Drakes has been hosting plumbers and tradespeople of the South East at our annual golf day for over 15 years. We welcome customers, staff and suppliers to the prestigious Hever Castle Golf Club and enjoy a fine day of golf, good food and competitions as almost 70 tradesmen and local business owners compete for silverware and bragging rights.
We are now opening the doors to our golf day and invite all account customers to register their interest if they would like to attend! You could be enjoying a day of golf at an award winning course and getting the chance to discuss upcoming jobs with your favourite staff and suppliers.
Along with our customers, another focus of our annual golf day is to raise money for company charity Hospice in the Weald – a local charity providing free care to terminally ill patients, their families and carers in Kent and Sussex. Last year we raised over £1100 thanks to the generosity of our club swinging customers and we hope to raise even more this year!
This week Drakes' Chairman, David Aisher, flew down to Polypipe’s now famous regatta and joined over 50 yachts for races around Port Solent.
Along with the Chairman, Drakes brought many a salty sea dog with a crew consisting of customers and staff alike - all enjoying a free day of sailing and fundraising thanks to their favourite independent plumbers' merchant.
Although at the helm of a different boat than he was used to, David fought the changeable conditions and led Drakes to an overall 11th place finish with a 4th place class finish.
After racing, the team joined a prize-giving event back on shore and a prize of another free day's sailing was raffled by Drakes; raising over £2,000 for Help the Heroes.
If you're interested in taking part in these regular events held or attended by Drakes then speak to your local branch team.
